TIPS FROM MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2026

Once again this year, Design Week proved to be an extraordinarily eventful occasion, with Milan showcasing its international flair to the fullest by welcoming professionals and enthusiasts from around the world.

The Event

Milan has always been the cradle of contemporary design. As Ronan Bouroullec puts it, “Everything happens here, in just a few days… it’s like pausing a video: you can see the entire world of design concentrated in a single place.” A unique energy, amplified this year by an even stronger international presence: meetings, dinners, and events have fostered a stimulating cultural dialogue rich with new perspectives.

The excitement and enthusiasm remain unchanged over time. Ever since the early years, when I eagerly awaited the days of the Salone del Mobile, this event has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. Today, rather than focusing on individual products, I carefully observe trends, design languages, new exhibition formats, and retail strategies, in search of visions capable of interpreting the future of living.

Design and Brand

Among the most prominent trends, we see increasingly soft and organic shapes, bold and seemingly spontaneous color pairings, and eclectic environments rich in personality. Heritage brands like Molteni&C chose to showcase their collections within historic Milanese palazzi, creating elegant and sophisticated domestic settings designed for a discerning and refined audience.

In downtown showrooms, brands such as Flexform, Euromobil, Arclinea, B&B, Cassina, Gervasoni, Porro, and Cappellini presented high-impact displays that seamlessly blend aesthetic research with innovation. Particular attention was also paid to the outdoor sector, featuring solutions that are increasingly advanced in both materials and performance. Research and technology go hand in hand when it comes to durability and sustainability—the ultimate watchwords for high-quality Italian design.

The city transformed into a widespread narrative: historic residences opened to the public, immersive installations, thematic exhibitions—such as those hosted at the Triennale di Milano—and artistic and technological interventions outlined new, increasingly fluid, and personalized scenarios for contemporary living.

The inspirations emerging from Design Week are already evolving within our own projects: materials, styles, and solutions are being reworked and translated into tangible spaces, designed to interpret modern needs and lifestyles.

At our Atelier and the San Giuliano Vecchio showroom, you can explore these themes further and discover how the trends observed in Milan can be transformed into bespoke projects, refined down to the smallest detail.
